New Baby Balloon Bouquet

I had time to work on the "New Baby Bouquet," early this week. YAY! I have both "Baby Boy" and "Baby Girl" bubble balloons for the bouquets. The largest balloon is made to look like a pacifier. The fun in creating this bouquet was finding a useful base for the recipient.

The base of this bouquet is a box of baby wipes topped with baby washcloths made to look like lollipops.
This is another large bouquet, as you can see by the dwarfed ruler in the above picture.
I will continue to work on bouquets in April and hope to have them ready to go by early May.

Have a great rest of the week, everyone!

Pictures from the week....

Things I made/did this week....

This bride and groom "Lootle" Couple and palm trees were made for a lovely couple's wedding reception. The reception was held "back at home" after their island wedding.

I had the privilege of teaching students how to twist basic balloon animals.
We celebrated my husband's birthday today. I used it as an excuse to test new helium balloons... I learned a few things, which is great!

"Gumball Balloon" using a Qualatex Bubble. I had this one outside and it was windy so I needed to hold it just to snap the picture.

This one had two messages on it; "Best Dad in the World" and "Best Husband in the World."
Just testing another Qualatex Bubble Balloon. DD and I made the base balloons look like sports balls (basketballs, tennis balls, golf balls, etc.). They worked really well. Not that anyone else noticed the details but, hey, they made me smile. : )

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

First Bouquet Creation.

I took some time to be creative this weekend. It was good therapy for me. : ) With feedback from my daughter and husband, this was the result... a delivery piece for Mother's Day. The helium balloons are 22" Qualatex Bubbles - my favorites for helium use! These are plastic bubbles and will last weeks! Below is a picture with my daughter in it so you have a size reference.
I originally had planned to put 5 helium bubbles in the bouquet but it was seriously WAY TOO big. : )

What do you think? Comments are appreciated.

The blessings of my job...

Seriously, I'm sure I already said it once this week, but I LOVE my job!

One of the many perks of my fabulously fun job is meeting people that I, otherwise, never would have had the pleasure of meeting.

Sunday's party was a true example of this. Rachel McGinn's photography is absolutely stunning. In reading her bio, I learned that she is a former editor of the J. Crew Catalog and her photographs have appeared in Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides New York and The Wall Street Journal just to name a few. One glance at her website and you will see why.

Not only did I get to meet this sweet woman and her beautiful family at her daughter's birthday party but she took stunning photographs of balloons that I made for the guests. The photographs look like they are straight out of a magazine and she posted them on her blog!

I don't know if I'm more excited about her blog posting or just having the pleasure to meet such a talented and kind lady.

Thanks, Rachel for the smiles and for inviting me to your daughter's birthday party!

Everyone have a blessed rest of the week!

The world of Balloon Bouquets

It is beginning to feel like spring outside. Let's hope it stays!

I took and passed the second QBN test, this week. This is another exam on the road to becoming a CBA(Certified Balloon Artist). This one focused on balloon bouquet deliveries.

I thought I would create a few standard bouquets to offer and fit in my schedule as time allows. This service is coming soon!

Tonight, I worked on a base for a Mother's Day bouquet and the picture above is a close-up of what I designed. I do not have the balloons for the helium portion of the bouquet yet but there will be beautiful flowers on them. Below is another picture of the basket base with just the bottom of the helium balloon bouquet. I already have improvement thoughts (definitely a bow on the basket) but I am happy with this basic starter base/weight.

The few balloon bouquets that I will offer will be jaw-dropping huge and spectacular. There will be no 9" balloons in these bouquets! These will be the gifts to give when you want to make a first-class impression. Are you excited yet?

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and thanks for reading!

Practicing New Designs...

I had some time to do some practicing yesterday and decided to work on some more of Jeanine Von Essen's designs. They are adorable and fairly quick to make.

In this picture it makes them seem part of an I-SPY page.
