Welcome. My name is Christine, also known as Miss Balloon Heart. I ran Creating Exciting Balloon Memories, LLC, aptly named because that is what I was blessed to do. This blog is where I shared my journey in the balloon industry - it was quite a ride. I am thankful for all of the friends I made in the balloon world and from my business. Creating Exciting Balloon Memories closed in October of 2011. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Classical Balloon Theater Premiered on Monday to fantastic reviews. Tons of photographs were taken and video was captured as well. I will be updating my website with videos and photos over the next few weeks. I decided to be a bit silly with this first one.
I am pleased to announce this week's featured fan, Becky Gardner. I have had the privilege of getting to know Becky and her children when I was homeschooling and have been lucky enough to spend time with them on many occasions. Becky always has a beautiful smile on her face. Her patience and love for everyone shines through everything she does. Enjoy getting to know this lovely woman. ======================== Are you a dog or a cat person? Neither-- more of a shark person. What is your favorite pizza topping? Fresh mozzerella, roma tomatoes, and basil. What activities did you participate in high school? Drama-- and my part always had the word "little" in front of it since I'm not even 5 feet tall. What do you think came first, the chicken or the egg? The chicken. Tell us about your family. They're wonderful. My college sweetheart and I have 3 beautiful children and our favorite thing is being outside at a park together. We love little quirky traditions like carpet picnic! What would you like readers to know about you personally? That I'm all about Jesus-- my relationship with Him is the most important thing in my life. On a completely different note, my favorite color is black and I hate tuna fish! What is your business? What "do you do?" I am a SAHM who homeschools and then I get to "work" with a direct selling company-- Thirty-One! What is the best part of your job/duties? The best part of teaching my kids is being there when they succeed and watching their excitement or reading a book together as a family-- just great! What I love about 31 us it gets me out of the house, allows me to meet all sorts of wonderful women, and help do fundraisers with missions groups and churches-- I LOVE that! Who is your greatest supporter in your life and work? My husband and mom-- it's hard to pick between the two because they both are really awesome and I know I wouldn't be where I am without either one!
Who or what inspires you? My kids-- when I did my race, I really wanted to be able to run again and be in great shape to play with them. They stilll keep me going. My mom is also an incredible example of mothering-- she persevered and hung in there when I had cancer as a baby and then again when she had breast cancer-- she is amazing! My husband who shows me what real ministry looks like and it doesn't happen in a church. Is there something you are really passionate about? What is it? Jesus, my husband, my kids, and just life in general-- every day is a new opportunity to live 100%! Also, I love working with other moms-- helping them gain confidence and letting them know they are not alone on this crazy road of motherhood! What is your favorite quote? "Be strong and courageous" Joshua 1:9 Do you have a favorite joke? You know what? The funniest thing to me is just hearing people laugh-- can't think of a joke. How may people reach you? Beth Flint. She has been my homeschooling mentor, my angel, my confidant in times of need, my encourager, my medical reference resource, my teammate, my teacher, and best of all my friend over the last handful of years. She is one of those women that when you meet her, you know you are blessed to have met her. I had the privilege to get to know Beth through homeschooling my daughter. Beth was one of the original people who encouraged me to give it a try. Later, she and I co-led the Pottstown Area Homeschoolers together, which Beth still does today. I do not think there are enough kind and wonderful words in the world for Beth. She is one of those angels on earth and I'm a better person because I know her. Enjoy reading about this amazing woman. ========================
Are you a dog or a cat person? I am definitely a dog person. I do have an allergy to cats. That prevents me from having any indoors but I love barn cats.
What is your favorite pizza topping? I love a good white pizza with spinach or Corropolese's real tomato pie (without any toppings!)
Did you play sports or a band instrument in high school(what activities did you participate in - doesn't have to be associated with school)? I was a majorette and also twirled a sword for a short time.
What do you think came first, the chicken or the egg? I definitely believe the egg came first.
Tell us about your family. My husband and I have two teenage boys, 16 & 14, and an English Setter, named Ziggy.
What would you like readers to know about you personally? I am a versatile, easy-going, objective person who strongly believes that all things happen for a reason.
What is your business? What "do you do?" : ) I wear many, many hats. Besides being a mother, wife and sister, I am currently homeschooling both boys. I am a registered nurse and enjoy helping family and friends to advocate for themselves when it comes to their health. I am also an accomplished horseback rider, and on occasion enjoy teaching lessons & training green horses. I also tinker with writing and a newer hobby, tatting.
What is the best part of your job/duties? I love seeing people and animals succeed at learning something new; whether it is a family member learning how to live healthier, or the green pony learning how to yield from my leg, or my 14 year old figuring out a quadratic equation, or my 16 year old wiring a motor. It's all good.
Who is your greatest supporter in your life and work? I draw support from my family, my friends and my Faith.
Who or what inspires you? The inert goodness of people, that occasionally rears its head to show its amazing hidden splendor.
Is there something you are really passionate about? What is it? I am passionate about 'paying things forward'.
What is your favorite quote? 'What comes around, goes around.'
What is your favorite subject to teach? I don't think I really have a favorite. I love to teach horseback riding, and swimming, but as far as a school subject, I enjoy them all. Each has its own good points & bad points, and it's a challenge to keep subjects like English and Math interesting. The internet has been a tremendous help in that area.
How can people reach you? The easiest and most reliable way to reach me is email.
I worked on my brand new show offering, this week and am super excited about it. I created a fun promo video today to cap off the creation of my new show concept. First show is in rehearsal mode now and features music from "The Carnival of the Animals."
This show is great for preschools, elementary schools, family events, fairs, birthday parties and more!
