Vrooom, Vrooom...

Another wonderful Don Caldwell design. I was thrilled to purchase yet another one of his DVDs. Balloon Heart Jr. gets as excited as I do when they arrive. He is VERY funny. I will never look at Captain Crunch the same way again after watching the latest DVD that I purchased.

Now, while not having the correct balloons for all the parts (I made do with what I have) and I somehow managed to place the back wheels in the wrong spot... well, these imperfections that bother me are not noticed by Balloon Heart, Jr. who took it upon herself to draw eyes on the headlights. I am happy with this first attempt at the wearable car.
I may just make a few for the car show in a few weeks. : )

The Birthday Monster...

The monster balloon for a birthday child. The stars balloon simply says "Happy Birthday."

Balloon Birthday Cake

My first successful balloon birthday cake for a party I worked today. The design is Happy Cabbie's. I added a mermaid to the cake, as the guest of honor likes red-headed mermaids. I did remove her name from the balloon, which is why it looks smudgy in the second picture.

Red Monster Balloon...

My neighbor requested a parody of an Elmo balloon for a birthday party they are attending on Sunday. I came up with this this morning. He was our test sculpture.

Balloon Heart Jr. and I put him by the door so our neighbor would see him waiting for her when she got home. He is happy at his new home now.

Veggie & Fruit Balloons

One of my friends has been hosting "Meat Out" meetings this month at our local library and has been requesting veggie balloons each week. These are the ones I made for last night's meeting. She likes the tree with a monkey but decided this week we could go monkey-less.

This picture below is the first group of balloons I made her - three weeks ago and that huge pea pod is still presentable, I'm told. : )

My first ice cream sundae (out of balloons)

This is my first try ever. I didn't have a white balloon or brown round to use for the ice cream, so I went for some type of strawberry swirl ice cream. I thought these would be good for Friendly's to put there with my card. I can't say I'm in love with it but I'm excited as I know each time I make one it will look better. I looked at some pictures of other people's ice cream sundae balloons and decided to give it a try.

Don Caldwell's Three-Eyed Alien Hat Design.

I decided to learn this one Saturday morning before I went to Friendly's. Typically this is designed with green balloons and it is drooling as well, but I decided to be happy with the teeth and tongue and made it a girl alien hat. : ) I did make a handful at Friendly's that afternoon. They are fun!

March 14, 2009

The week ahead will have me at Friendly's in Pottstown on Wednesday and Thursday night. Saturday morning I will be at the Daniel Boone Optimist Club Spring Show from 9AM - 11AM.

Mom's, mark your calendars for April 2nd at 10AM, I will be back at the Hard Bean in Boyertown. Hope to see you there!

Twisting balloons has quickly gone from "hmmmm, let me try twisting a few balloons and see what happens" to "yes, this is my business, do you want my card?" and having a full calendar. What a wild ride and yes, I'm loving every minute of it!!!

The week ahead...

Hello, all!

I'll be twisting balloons tomorrow at Spring Ridge Elementary School's Bull Dog Blast carnival in Wyomissing. If you are there, be sure to say "Hi!" I'll be doing some of the more simple creations that I do in order to get out more balloons to children.

But later in the day I get to do a birthday party for a couple of hours where I can do the really fun stuff. Woo hoo.

I'll be at Friendly's Wednesday and Thursday night this coming week and also NEXT Saturday for lunch - I thought it would be fun to see what a Saturday lunch is like there. " : )

My time at the Hard Bean Cafe this week was fabulous. We had quite a turnout and I'm booked there for the next two months - once a month on a Thursday and also one Saturday a month. Be sure to check my website calendar for the details. They have great coffee and yummy food.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
