Hello, all!

Tomorrow we celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday. Holy Cow, where does the time go? I will say that having a helium tank and thousands of balloons on-hand makes it extremely easy to spruce up the room quickly - we are all set for her birthday morning. Balloons are a wonderful way to paint the air and space in the room.

This week I worked on a couple of parody balloons that have been skipping around in my mind for a few months. The picture below has two hats that I created. A quick shout out to Bob and Larry for modeling them for me. The triangular shaped head has been the challenging part of this design.


Tonight I had just a few minutes to try a smaller, "Little Wrist Friends" version of the "quiet one" in the picture above. Not exactly where I want it yet but I'm happy that I got this far so quickly.


I also FINALLY remembered to bring a camera along to Friendly's this week and managed to snap a few pictures with the permission of the families. Click here to view that album of fun pictures.

For those of you who are waiting to know when my schedule will officially open up again... the end of November is the magic date (after Nov. 15th). I will be at the Daniel Boone Optimist Club's Craft Fair the first weekend of December but the remaining weekends are open for your birthdays, holiday parties and events! Book EARLY to reserve your dates.

This week I decorated the ceiling of the children's wing at the Boyertown Library to match their summer reading program's water theme. I had fun being creative with this one. To view all of the pictures, click here.

Six Month Booking Hiatus begins.

Hello, all!

I have decided to take an official hiatus on bookings during the next six months. My husband begins his six months of chemotherapy next week and in order to keep things as smooth and peaceful at home as possible I have decided to not take bookings for the entire time of his chemotherapy. I WILL take bookings for 2011 now. I may possibly be able to do events the last few weeks in December but I am going to wait a few months to see how some of his chemo rounds go before deciding on that for sure.

I WILL be working at Friendly's and Red Robin during this time, so do not hesitate to come on out and visit me there! Check my website calendar for current dates and times.

Now, all this being said, things may change, I may find that I AM able to work here and there, and if that happens you will be one of the first to know if you are reading this! So, yes, stay on my email lists and or Facebook Fan page for updates on the few remaining events I have and to see what fun stuff I'm working on and learning. I will also have balloon challenge requests periodically - there is one in the works on my Facebook Fan page.

I appreciate everyone's support TREMENDOUSLY. I look forward to being able to attend all of your events in 2011!

Week of June 22, 2009. Two discounts for blog readers.

This week is calm on the balloon twisting front to allow my daughter, Butterfly Balloon, to attend drama camp. She is quite excited about the camp which is always a good thing.

My public event this week is my usual, fun, Wednesday night spot of Friendly's in Pottstown on Shoemaker Rd. I will be there from 5PM - 7:30PM.

As for the discount mentioned in the title....the next two booking requests for events in the month of July that I receive (via website, email or phone) that tell me "I read your blog and would like the discount" will receive a $20 discount off the total cost of your event for events that are booked for 1.5 hours or more. This must be a new booking request and for a July 2009 event. Please note that I will not be offering discounts in the months of August through December of this year, as I will be limiting my hours during those months to focus on family activities that we have planned.

A goofy, larger, gun. I can not say that I am a fan of guns but since they are made from balloons and all of my balloon guns shoot jelly or cookies, it does not seem so bad. This is only a small portion of one of Don Caldwell's designs, the Monkey Tron5000. I did make a Fish Tron5000 this week at an event but did not get a picture. Maybe next time.

Wednesday, I will be at Agora's Showcase Event at the Exton Barnes & Noble from 10:30AM-12:30PM and will later in the day be at my weekly restaurant twisting location, at Friendly's on Shoemaker Rd. in Pottstown on Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:30PM.

Ray's has free refills and if you like boardwalk fries - you have to try this place - YUMMY. The burgers are made fresh - never frozen and are delicious. Week of May 11

This week is a light balloon twisting week for me, by choice, as Encore Theater Company is holding auditions for the fall production of Music Man and I get to have fun assisting with casting the show.

What I have been up to...

I completed my VERY FIRST balloon show on Saturday night for a church congregational dinner. I had the best time and received many affirmations that I am on the right path. If you know of a church that is interested in a 30 minute gospel balloon show, definitely tell them about me as I now have one ready to go! Below is a picture of the two "lions," from our balloon version of "Daniel and the Lion's Den."



I also got word this week that I will be the balloon twister for "Agora Showcase" events all around the eastern side of PA in June. This will be seven public events at different Barnes And Noble locations. I could not be more excited. That being said, I will not be doing many parties on the weekends in June, as I will need some family time and recovery time.

Additionally, I was scheduled back at the Hard Bean Cafe for Thursday, June 5th at 10:00AM and also Monday, July 6th at 11:30 AM, immediately following a story time led by the Boyertown Library.

Yes, I'm busy, busy, busy. If you are waiting to book me, well, I would not wait long, as I have June almost completely booked and have late summer and fall dates already coming in.

I had a wonderful time this morning at Limerick Bowl, twisting balloons for their Junior Leagues. What a party they throw there!

The week ahead 4/12/2009

I'm looking forward to Easter Day on Sunday and am working on getting ahead on some things while I have some time..... : )

This coming week, I will be at my usual Wednesday Night Hang Out at Friendly's in Pottstown on Shoemaker Rd. I will be there from 5PM - 7:30PM.

On Saturday April 18th, you can catch me at two local places. From 10:30AM - 1:00PM, I will be at Bark For Life at the Sunnybrook Pavilion in Pottstown.

I have a quick stop at the library to make a few balloons for a reading event and then I will be at the Hard Bean Cafe from 3PM-5PM also on Saturday, April 18th.

The week ahead...

Hello, all!

I'll be twisting balloons tomorrow at Spring Ridge Elementary School's Bull Dog Blast carnival in Wyomissing. If you are there, be sure to say "Hi!" I'll be doing some of the more simple creations that I do in order to get out more balloons to children.

But later in the day I get to do a birthday party for a couple of hours where I can do the really fun stuff. Woo hoo.

I'll be at Friendly's Wednesday and Thursday night this coming week and also NEXT Saturday for lunch - I thought it would be fun to see what a Saturday lunch is like there. " : )

My time at the Hard Bean Cafe this week was fabulous. We had quite a turnout and I'm booked there for the next two months - once a month on a Thursday and also one Saturday a month. Be sure to check my website calendar for the details. They have great coffee and yummy food.
